La Mariposa in La Preneuse
La Mariposa is a family run boutique beach hotel of 35 rooms on the beach at La Preneuse, Black River, on the west coast of Mauritius, looking across the lagoon to Le Morne Brabant. It opened in 2005 as a bed and breakfast and was rebuilt as a beach residence in 2017. Most rooms have a kitchenette, the Korail Rouge beach restaurant sits in a tropical garden under a large old tree, and a beach bar and a swimming pool are a few metres from the sand. The team of around 30 buys from local fishermen and suppliers and is working to remove single use plastic.

La Mariposa is a family run boutique beach hotel of 35 rooms on the beach at La Preneuse, Black River, on the west coast of Mauritius, looking across the lagoon to Le Morne Brabant. It opened in 2005 as a bed and breakfast and was rebuilt as a beach residence in 2017. Most rooms have a kitchenette, the Korail Rouge beach restaurant sits in a tropical garden under a large old tree, and a beach bar and a swimming pool are a few metres from the sand. The team of around 30 buys from local fishermen and suppliers and is working to remove single use plastic.
