Participant guidelines:

• Certification required: Open water diver or equivalent
• A medical questionnaire needs to be filled, stating no indication against diving. A medical statement is required for divers above 60 years old or if you have any health issues like asthma, diabetes, heart problem, or if you had recent surgery/ intervention
• Equipment provided: Sidemount total diving configuration, cylinders, weights, air fills
• Compulsory MSDA licence fee Rs.200 per person - valid for 2 months (payable directly at dive centre)
• Optional: Dive computer Rs.200 per dive & Nitrox filling per cylinder 22% to 32% Rs.200 (payable directly at dive centre)

Sidemount

Sidemount Diving is already common practice for many wreck and cave divers, and becomes more and more popular worldwide. The advantage with Sidemount is that you carry the cylinders on your sides and therefore, easier access to restrictions, easier access to your cylinders, less physical weight (your back does not suffer from any weight), better streamlining, flexibility in cylinder options and better equipment protection.

This results in a better mobility. With this technique you also will always have direct eye contact with the valves, which is a considerable advantage. Sidemount diving and training is one of our best specialities. Olivier our instructor trainer is the only extended range sidemount instructor trainer in Mauritius and is elite in the region Indian Ocean / Africa.

The Sidemount course takes 1 to 3 days. We start with theory and pool sessions before heading to the ocean to continue the lessons where we practice and expand your attained knowledge. Theory and pool sessions will be held on site. 
A theory examination is compulsory with a pass mark of 80%.
