About
Ile aux Aigrettes is an islet which is just 850m off the south-east coast of Mauritius island is home to many plants and animals unique to Mauritius island. The island was turned into a nature reserve by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation for conservation and restoration of the forest and reintroduction of rare species. The island is made up of coralline limestone, making it even more important to preserve as it is the last dry coastal forest of Mauritius. The island is not only discovery base fauna and flora, but it also offers a glimpse of breath-taking view of the south coast of Mauritius.
Ile aux Aigrettes offers a fantastic experience, blending nature and education. My child loved learning about local wildlife in such a beautiful setting. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend the tour of the Nature Reserve at Ile aux Aigrette. The tour starts with a short boat ride to the islands\, followed by a walk around the nature reserve.
