- Grand Gaube (5 min drive): A shallow lagoon, a little choppier than Anse la Raie, for intermediate riders. The one safe access is a small sandy beach in the village, past the Catholic church. Watch for fishing boats, coral heads and currents in the passes, and avoid low tide.
- Anse la Raie (9 min drive): A large lagoon in the north, flat to choppy, with a reef about 2.5 km out. It suits all levels and kite schools teach beginners here. Launch from the small sandy beach beside the public beach, and watch for rocks in the water and the trees behind the beach.
- Cap Malheureux (11 min drive): A lagoon in front of the red roof church, flat inside with waves breaking on the reef. Not for beginners: the launch area is small and boats are anchored in the lagoon. Strong currents run through the passes.
- Wind season: the trade winds are strongest from June to September, 18 to 35 knots. April, May, October and November bring 10 to 25 knots.
